Terms
The Key Stakeholders approved the Terms of Reference, which covers the background, goals, role, structure, key objectives and deliverables for the commission, in February 2007.
As outlined in the terms of reference the two key goals of the commission are:
To provide the Olympic Board and other stakeholders with commentary, supported by objective evidence, to demonstrate whether key stakeholders have:
- Robust plans and processes in place to deliver sustainable development objectives
- Objective evidence that sustainable development objectives being are achieved
- Sustainable development plans and performance to support a sustainable legacy
The commission will provide a credible point of reference for all stakeholders, with respect to sustainable development assurance issues.
Its role is at a strategic level, acting as an advisor to the Olympic Board and a ‘critical friend’ to key stakeholders.
